I want to lock some layouts that is allow them to go to layout mode because these are print layouts and they have to fix page margins because of File Makers problem with page breaking across text fields.But I don't want them to give access to other layouts where the functions and implementation is going on.How do I do this?

The best solution is a seperate printing/reporting file, where they have complete access.

Another solution is to control layout access via Filemaker scripting. Have a button such as "Modify Layout" on the screens that they should have access to. This will put them in layout mode, but this will make securing you solution much more difficult, since once in layout mode they have some pretty powerful access to the rest of your solution.
