I am not too familiar with FM 5. I need to create a script to import from an Excel file. I will need to match the fields, and then run this script manually every month, but without having to manually match the fields each time.

I created the Import script, checked Restore, and matched the fields. But when i tried to run the script again, FM did not remember my field matching. Did i miss something?

I believe you want to deselect the Restore. Restore import order tells FileMaker Pro to use the import order that was in effect when you added the script step..

As an example, lets say your script was set up as importing these fields

Name

Address

Phone Number

and you have created your script with the Restore checked.

Now you decide to add and remove a field so you do this import manually.

Name

Street Address

City

State

Zip

Then you go into Edit and say Replace without deselecting Restore.

When you run your script it will revert back to

Name

Address

Phone Number.
