Is it possible to make the equivalent of a pop-up menu field within a custom dialog?

I have to get a value that is valid only if member of a value list through a custom dialog... any clue?

No you can't, the only way is to open a new window where the formatting as popup can live, or buy a plugin that can make you taylor the user interface.

Create your own custom dialog with menu by using a standard Filemaker layout in a new window.

... Yeah, as i've said a million times, don't even bother with xp unless you want your windows flashing all over the place.
