In a custom solution created for a small business, the employee time clock can be easily circumented by some individuals who just change their computer workstation clocks to reflect what they wish their clock-in or clock-out time to record.

Shouldn't FMP (or FM Server) be using a network server clock only? Does this funtionality need to created or changed in the custom solution.

(The solution is cross platform, using FMP 6 at this time.)

FileMaker Pro 7 and later have the ability to use the Server's time clock, not the workstation's. Upgrade to Version 8.5 and Server 8.0v4.

it's fairly trivial to run a "synch clock" OS script before doing time critical stuff in your FM solution. Check www.advisor.com for my name. I wrote an article on this a couple of years ago.
