Newbies ecogeek Posted July 19, 2006 Newbies Posted July 19, 2006 I need to execute a script every day at a specified time. (The script exports data to a csv file.) As far as I can tell, I can't do this without a plug-in. What is the best way for me to schedule a script? I am somewhat confused about what I've read so far. Has anyone done a simple daily script execution before? Is there anything similar to cron (which can execute UNIX shell scripts)?
John Mark Osborne Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 The Troi Activator plug-in will run a script at a specified time: http://www.troi.com/
Newbies ecogeek Posted July 20, 2006 Author Newbies Posted July 20, 2006 Yes! I will try this first thing tomorrow morning. The part that didn't click for me is that I could trigger scripts (including external ones) on opening a file. Then I can use iCal or cron or something else to schedule the opening of the file. Brilliant! Thank you!
