Creating usernames/Prompt for usernames and password/Auto enter username

I'm using filemaker pro 6. This is the problem.

I want to create different users for a filemaker database

And I want to be able to keep track of who creates records and modifies records.

When my database opens I want a prompt for a username and a password.

And I want that username to be automatically entered into a "record created by" field every time a new record is created by the user who is logged into the database.

I don't want the username that is found in 'Preferences>Application' to be entered. I want to create different users. I only want to create 4 different users. And I want a prompt for a username and password everytime the file is opened. And I want the username that is entered to be automatically entered into a field called "record created by:" when that user creates a record.

All help greatly appreciated!!!

Havent used FM Pro 6, but if you have FM 7 or 8, what you want to do is all built in, very simple. I am a novice but I was able to create many accounts with different priviledges, FM 7/8 can also auot enter who created the record or who modified it , at what day and what time. All you need is fields for what you want to record. Try downloading the trial version of FM 7 or 8.

Hope i helps..

cheers

Yeah, pinkhorn should upgrade to FM8. FM6 and below only have passwords.
