Newbies Phil Maker Posted July 21, 2006 Newbies Posted July 21, 2006 I am trying to run Filemaker server 5.5 on a PC running Windows Server 2000. I set the application to launch automatically (it doesn’t) and I get the message: “Snap-in failed to initialize Name: Filemaker Server CLSID: {8B1BF5E3-4F4D-11D2-84A9-006008B01131}” on launching Filemaker Server Console for Windows 2000 (FMSCONSL.msc). If it matters, I did install Server on my D: drive due to lack of space on my C: drive. I will be updating to a ver 7 solution ASAP, BTW. Any ideas out there?
Wim Decorte Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 what if you try to load it manually: - start-> run -> type in "mmc" (without the quotes) and hit enter - from the File menu: Add/Remove Snap-in - click the Add button at the lower left corner - browse for filemaker server and add it - exit all the dialogs and try to work with the FMS snap-in
