Jalz Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone has attempted to use Eventscript to create reminders and alarms in a system. I did have a licence for Troi Activator, in the FileMaker 6 days, but didn't really get on with this plugin. I know I can upgrade to the lastest version at a cheap price, but I find the Eventscript plugin so easy to use compared to Activator as you don't have remember to delete events and triggering things are so easy. Support seems to be great on this forums as well.
Jalz Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 OK, thought I might have another attempt at using the Troi Activator plugin to do this. Incidently what do people use to schedule alarms when creating systems.
Jalz Posted August 1, 2006 Author Posted August 1, 2006 As no-one has responded to my previous posts regarding Eventscript and alarms, I thought I would post again with another query. Has anyone used both these plugins in the same solution and are they compatible (what I mean is do they rely on each others resources?) I'm thinking of using the Activator plugin to simply activate alarms, but using the Eventscript plugin to trigger scripts on field change. I dont want to use the activator for general triggering after field change as you have to delete events and I always find this messy. Thanks to all that reply
Lee Smith Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 I have sent you a Private Topic. After reading this thread, I have a question. What did Troi say? This seems like a question that they would have better information about then us, since it involves one of their products. HTH Lee
Jalz Posted August 2, 2006 Author Posted August 2, 2006 Thanks Lee, I've asked Troi to help me with my query, fingers crossed! Jalz
