Jon Crain Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 (edited) We currently have a large project that we are working on for transfering a great deal of audio information from older sources to digital media. Part of the project is creating a kiosk station which will allow people to listen to any of the music we are transferring. For this part we will be importing about 800 CDs into a compressed format. We will be using iTunes as the backend and I would love to be able to edit the ID3 tags straight from FileMaker since we already have all the titles from the CDs in a database. These aren't CDs that would come up under GraceNote. I'm not an expert with Applescripts, but I'm thinking we will be able to name the CD to its corresponding CD_ID and then use a join table to come up with the track names and other information needed for the track editing. Anyone have a place to start? I've already looked at the "iGotta" database, but it doesn't seem to update the tags, only finds songs with those tags. jon Edited July 25, 2006 by Guest
laudmusic Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 You can use a simple AppleScript to update a record/track in iTunes. This should trigger an update to the mp3 file.
