We currently have a large project that we are working on for transfering a great deal of audio information from older sources to digital media. Part of the project is creating a kiosk station which will allow people to listen to any of the music we are transferring. For this part we will be importing about 800 CDs into a compressed format. We will be using iTunes as the backend and I would love to be able to edit the ID3 tags straight from FileMaker since we already have all the titles from the CDs in a database. These aren't CDs that would come up under GraceNote. I'm not an expert with Applescripts, but I'm thinking we will be able to name the CD to its corresponding CD_ID and then use a join table to come up with the track names and other information needed for the track editing.

Anyone have a place to start?

I've already looked at the "iGotta" database, but it doesn't seem to update the tags, only finds songs with those tags.

You can use a simple AppleScript to update a record/track in iTunes. This should trigger an update to the mp3 file.
