A simple find but I can't figure it out

I have a very simple find need but I can't seem to figure it out. We have a music data base and all that I want to do is find all songs that start with "a". Either "A Dark Night", "Another time" or "Abacrombie". When I do a find simply with a in the Title field I of course get every song that has an a anywhere in the title. If I do an =a find I get any title that has a single a within the title.

Thanks for your help,

Mitch

The magical search criteria is: ==a*

Thanks Tom for the quick response.

I tried your suggestion but I get "No records found".

Mitch

Did you put the asterisk after the a?

I tried the find again ==a* and I get "No Records Match This Request"

Mitch

Oh... FileMaker 3, sorry I just noticed that. OK then, make a calculated field of type text: Left( Title, 1 ) and search on that.

Thanks Tom for your help. That did the trick.
