serial number field

I want to create a serial number field, starting at 0001 for each new job ie associate number with job number. Any suggestions -thanks

You havn't made yourself very clear but if you want to create a unique ID field starting at one when you create the field one of your options is 'auto-enter' and one of those options is 'serial number'.There you can set where to start numbering from.

If you want each JOB to have a number starting at one you will to give us more info
