Newbies tiepolo Posted August 14, 2006 Newbies Posted August 14, 2006 Hello all. I'm a complete newbie to Filemaker so this question may be a stupid one. I could not find the answer in the Filemaker Help, so I'm asking here. I need to find all records that exceed a specific amount of characters. For instance, I would like to find all records that have more than 15 characters in the "name" field. Is this possible? If so, how do I go about doing this find? Thanks in advance for the help.
LaRetta Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 (edited) Hi, welcome to FM Forums! Create a calculation (number) with: Length ( nameField ) > 15 Perform a Find on this calculation for a 1. This calc produces a boolean result 1 for yes and 0 for no. Your script step would be: Perform Find [ ] ... Find Request criteria would be, select field and just type: 1 ... and ADD.
