Newbies Tony Scandora Posted August 16, 2006 Newbies Posted August 16, 2006 My first ever task using FileMaker is to fix bugs in a single application running on 4.1 on Windows. Six related forms all open up nicely, with main displayed and five subordinate forms minimized. All subordinate forms allow layout mode, but Layout is greyed out on the main form's Mode menu. What might the main form have done to disallow layout mode? Thanks, Tony Scandora Tony at AES Systems Corp dot com
Lee Smith Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Hi Tony, and Welcome to the Forum. I take it you didn't develop the files, and specify access or passwords? The layout mode is controlled by Access Privileges . If you don't have the password Design Layouts, then you will not be able to go into layout mode. HTH Lee
Newbies Tony Scandora Posted August 16, 2006 Author Newbies Posted August 16, 2006 That would be it. I found File, Change Password..., and sure enough there is a password. I'll track down the author and hope he remembers it. Thanks for your amazingly quick response, Tony
