Limit Users to Layout

Featured Replies

I have a database that has 2 main lauyouts, Main Menu (for users) and Admin Menu (for Admins). I want to limit users to just the Main Menu layout and give rights to Admins to access both layouts. I'm new to the rights and priveleges aspect of FileMaker 8 so any directions would be great, thank you.

I have a similar question and notice that no one responded. Did you ever figure out how to limit users to specific layouts? In the db in question I want to hide certain layouts from User 1 and User 2 while making all layouts available to the Admin.

In the Define Accounts and Privileges section, create a Privilege Set for the subordinate users. In the section for defining access to layouts, select custom privileges and then set the layout you do not want the users to have access to as . Conversely, set the one to which you want them to have access to whatever level you wish. I'd suggest View Only. Record editing privileges for this layout should be set separately.
