Does anyone know of a way to script the creation of a new layout? What I want to do is allow the end user to create new form letters as layouts on their own without giving them full design rights. Any help would be wonderful. Thank you.

Are you sure you want your users to create new layouts for each form letter? Maybe you could create a form letter template (or 2 or 3 form letter templates)... and then a field for letter contents/memo (named something appropriate)... have the user fill the letter contents field out on a data entry layout and then script a button to go to the form letter template you created.

You can script the creation of layouts. Instead, there are a variety of technique to create merge letters, either integrating a Word merge letter with your data, or doing everything within FileMaker.

I'd suggest you perform a forum search for +merge +letter and read up on some past discussions.
