stefanshotton Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I have a runtime solution bound and released in fmpadv8. The files are based on a seperated model. If i were to upgrade to fmpadv 8.5 and issued a rebound version(using the original bind key) of the user interface file would this work with the other files or would all files in the new bound version need to be distributed? Please bear in mind all other files are just data and calcs only no layouts.
Inky Phil Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 In theory that should do it although I have never tried this myself. I think that as well as using the original bind key you will have to use the original file extension and your users will have to put the new file in the same folder as the old file (probably good practice to rename the old file and leave it in place until such time as the new file is proven as reliable). Good Luck Phil
stefanshotton Posted August 23, 2006 Author Posted August 23, 2006 Thanks I'd rang filemaker technical support, they were absolutely clueless. Was trying to work out wether the upgrade was worth it as with developer not many features have been added and may have been to much hassle.
