merrickmgt Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Hello, Will FM 7 be ok on an intel Mac? I know it will certainly not be ideal, at the very least. Have any of you intel Mac users upgraded to Pro 8.5?
Fitch Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Older versions including FileMaker 7 should work in Rosetta, but I haven't tested it. As for your second question: yes. 8.5 was designed for Intel Macs, and is a must for any serious FileMaker user.
Fenton Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 I would enthusiastically second Fitch's statement. 8.5 is amazingly fast and stable on an Intel Mac (iMac Core Due). Rosetta is OK, I was running 8 on it (don't have 7 on this machine, but I imagine it'd be fine); I'm still running FileMaker 6 on it (when I have to). But 8.5 runs like a dream.
