Newbies Miles W Posted September 22, 2006 Newbies Posted September 22, 2006 (edited) Hi All, I'm using FMP 8 Adv to create a new database that uses portals and have found a bug I had not experienced before. When entering data in a portal field, with a transparent background, all editable portal fields turn gray. The user ends up entering and editing black text on a gray background. I have been unable to fix this, except by adding a background color to the field. I don't want background color, since it I have alternating color bars in the portal. Is there any way to fix this bug? I am running 8.0v3 on OS X 10.4.7. I have not tried it on the PC yet. I welcome all suggestions. Thanks, - Miles Edited September 22, 2006 by Guest
John Mark Osborne Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 This behavior is not a bug. It may not behave the way you want but it the correct behavior. It's worked this way as long as I can remember... since relationships were introduced. I have not found a way around this behavior but I'm also not a big fan of alternating row colors for portals.
comment Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Try turning off "Show field frames when record is active" in Layout Setup.
Newbies Miles W Posted October 2, 2006 Author Newbies Posted October 2, 2006 THAT WAS IT!!! I call this a bug! When field frames are 'shown' you get a gray background, no matter what your highlight color is. When they are off you get the system highlight color. Thank you so much, Michael! - Miles
