Adam123 Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Is there a way to manipulate a file using a script? I would like to have the file loaded to the screen and have FM parse the lines and put them into fields, then make it so I can edit fields then edit or overwrite the file. Like if I needed to change value 12 to 14 on line 12 is there a way to replace a line in a txt file??
DukeS Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I think that troi File Plug-in can do the job. http://www.troi.com/software/fileplugin.html
Lee Smith Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 (edited) It sounds like what you want to do can be done within FileMaker, although I would probable use a text editor, because it isn't as limiting as FileMaker when it comes to using Grep Pattern Finds and Replaces. Why not attache a sample of your text file, and tell us what needs to go into what fields. HTH Lee Edited September 28, 2006 by Guest clean up
