Jerry100 Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 I'm running FMS8.0 on Windows 2003. Using the Administrative controls, I've set clients to be closed out after fifteen minutes of idle time. FM states that the user will be made aware of this at sign-on. Neither the warning nor the actual client logout occur following any long idle period. Is anyone using this function, and if so are there tricks to it? I view it as an important security practice. :D
Steven H. Blackwell Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 FM states that the user will be made aware of this at sign-on. Where does it say that? For this feature to work, first it must be enabled on the Server as you appear to have done. Second, in the Privilege Set for the active Account, be sure the option for this is also checked. Jerry100 Posted October 2, 2006 Author Posted October 2, 2006 Thanks for the reminder to make sure it was also enabled for the appropriate privilege sets. As it turns out, it was. My problem was a careless glance at the interval to be used hhmm. I was reading it as mmss and had it set for 15:00. No one was ever disconnected because even my most dedicated users were not idle for 15 hours. As to where I got the statement, it appears at the top of the Remote Admin Asst on the set idle screen.
