Tearing my hair out at midnight ... I know you've all been there.

So somewhere in my fifteen-line script, I've caused a logic error, but I'm not seeing it. Every line looks right to me - but I must be goggle-eyed, because somewhere, I'm getting a hang. I know I once before used a feature that would test-drive a script, one piece at a time, soI could watch it unfold, but I can't recall how, or if it was a plugin [i bounce between a couple of clients with a couple of versions].

Should I start [when I get up] manually inserting a Pause between each script step, or am i remembering correctly that there's a switch I can flip to watch this happen in slow motion?

Nope, you'll have to insert the pause script steps... A script "debugger" is available in both the advanced 8 version

Hi Ian,

Since you have Developer 6, you can walk through a script by first turning on Script Debugger (Main Menu >> Scripts >> Script Debugger), and then running the scripts.

Hmmm, didn't realize it went back that far, i thought it was new.. sorry, i really shouldn't give advice on FM 6.

Ah, that is [unfortunately] what I was thinking of!

The project I'm currently doing is for a client who has a licensed copy of FMP 8 Adv but doesn't know what to do with it. [They are paying me in part with an upgrade from 6 Dev to 8.5.] So although the latest FMP that I own is 6 Dev [and I see that that's where I've used the Debug Scripts choice], I'm working in 8 Adv.

However, you guys reminded me what it was called, which enabled me to look more carefully in the help menu, and I see that it's in 8 and has just been moved over to the Tools menu, so thanks for the input.
