I have a feeling I know the answer already, but I'm hoping there's an easy way around this:

Can I create a relationship with a specific repetition of a repeating field?

What I surmise is, NO....that it will include all repetitions in that relationship, correct?

Is there a way around it then? I'd like to match only specific repetitions rather than all repetitions. Reason being, I want a specific relationship to each repetition and only that repetition. And I don't want to have separate fields for the data in each repetition...it just gets cumbersome. But I have a feeling that's my only option, huh?

Sorry if I'm causing any confusion (I tend to do that here).

Yes, unless you're willing to go with a relational design.

You could define a table that replaces your repeating field, then include a field with information that makes each desired related record link to your target table.

FileMaker has been relational for 10 years and repeating fields are almost always a poor choice. Get rid of the repeating fields and go to a relational design.

Ender -- Mmm, yea. That's what I originally was doing, although doing the relationship within the current table. And that is what was getting messy. Lots of fields within that table.

I'll do the relationship with a new table. Thanks to the both of you!
