Woodelf Posted October 12, 2000 Posted October 12, 2000 Is there anywhere I can get a listing of all the FMP web companion Tags? Cheers
jwtidwell Posted October 15, 2000 Posted October 15, 2000 The two places that I know of are in FileMaker Pro Developer. There is a database called "CDML Reference" included with it. Also, Home Page includes a reference file with all of the Web Companion commands through the last version of FileMaker (4?)
Vaughan Posted October 16, 2000 Posted October 16, 2000 I just upgraded from FMP 4 to 5 and I cannot for the life of me reason why FileMaker (te company) decided to leave the CDML reference database from the vanilla installation. I mean, what's it gonna cost to put it in? Without this simple piece of documentation, there is virtually *NO* reference material included with the program. The books have nothing on CDML and the on-line help has none either. How are people supposted to learn the ropes if there is no documentation? Get a grip on yourself, FileMaker Inc. Post it on the web or something.
jwtidwell Posted October 17, 2000 Posted October 17, 2000 Right behind you Vaughan!!! It really makes no sense at all. FileMaker really should make the information available on the web. This could only encourage users to utilize CDML and FileMaker (unless this somehow infringes on some secret agreement with Blue World, since CDML is a subset of their web scripting language Lasso?)
dspires Posted October 17, 2000 Posted October 17, 2000 CDML Reference database + Web companion. How difficult can it be? It's probably out there.
Eske Gunge Posted October 18, 2000 Posted October 18, 2000 Think I found it... Hope this is what you need. http://www.kw.nl/~pike/DocZ/filemaker/CDMLref.html Eske Gunge
Woodelf Posted October 18, 2000 Author Posted October 18, 2000 Thanks guys, I found a reference of sorts by installing HomePage 3.0 (luckly my work paid for it) but I use freeway for page building!! The link was great Cheers Eske later
Vaughan Posted October 22, 2000 Posted October 22, 2000 That link refers to the FMP 4 CDML codes If you have nothing it's greate (it's all you need if you are still developing for FMP4!) but it does not have the codes introduced with FMP5. But from what I can tell it's only a couple of things anyway. Thanks for the list. I only hope the site's maintainer doesn't get into troubloe with the copyright...
Woodelf Posted October 25, 2000 Author Posted October 25, 2000 Wehhaaaayy!! Found a new CDML tags in FMP 5 PDF document: http://www.maclane.com/cdml/cdml_detecting_record_mod_collisions_with_browsers.htm The top link in also see list is to a PDF doc of new CDML tags!! Happy CDMLing
Vaughan Posted October 25, 2000 Posted October 25, 2000 Thanks for those references. They have been bookmarked for future use.
