Hi

I wanted to post this in the sandbox but there is no New Topic Button.

I want to sync my filemaker contacts with my mobile and figured the best way is to exchange information with OS X AddressBook then isync them.

Comments?, Suggestions?, any thoughts or ideas?

What are my options?

I've investigated this for little more than a week now, and it seems that absolutely bidirectional sync is far fetched and BTW against the relational approaches usually applied to our stuff.

The easiest way to get things from a filemaker database is to build this CF http://www.briandunning.com/cf/563 into it, and let them pile up at the users desktop, in sinceer hope the user vil take action and stuff his or her addressbook with them.

You can also make an embedded applescript writing new records directly into the addressbook.

But the crutial point is when and how often, should it be every single change in a field, this would probably require the not particular well supported shell plugin in order to get the addressbook ID backwards from the addressbook, for further syncking demands.

For the moment is a collegue trying to write to the OpenLDAP server included in Mac OSX or available is opensource for windows or linux, simply because the addressbook can subscripe to LDAP sevices. What seems promising for the moment is the the Smart Pill plugin from Scodigo.

You don't qualify for posting in the Sandbox, you have over 5 post. The Sandbox Topic was created for the brand new members, in order to give them a chance to figure out the Forum.

Your question could be posted in a couple of different Topics, including this one, so why would you want to post it to Sandbox where one of the Moderators would then have to move it to here?
