Disable Ctrl-tab

Featured Replies

Sorry I do not know where best to post this. Also I have done a search but not found an answer to this one.

How do I stop my users from using ctr-tab to flip between available windows.

TIA

Phil

Probably have to disable the menu option / the whole window menu that allows users to select the current window. I haven't tried, but given that it's a directly related shortcut, it should work just like locking the side bar stops scrolling using mouse wheel.

Anyway, just a guess but worth a try.

Thanks for getting back to me Genx.

Forgive me, I have my 'particularly stupid' head on today but how do you disable a menu option?

Phil

Custom menu set (duplicate default set, remove window menu). Again, i'm not 100% sure it will work, but it's the only logical thing i can think of.

Sadly that didn't work. Anybody else got any bright ideas?

phil

Hmmmm,

All my user's are on lowest menu set privelege's have minimal custom menu's installed, and i just tested in one of their accounts, they can still do window cycling using ctrl+tab -- i don't ever use multiple windows so it's not really an issue for me, but...

i know there is a plug-in around that will let you do it -- but do you want to go that far?

Hey Phil!

In Mac OSX, the ability to move between windows in an application is determed through the user's System Preferences of the OS ("Keyboard & Mouse" preferences, under the "Keyboard Shortcuts" pane).

Not having Windows OS, I can't be certain of course, but I think you know where I'm heading ... that it's a function of the machine's operating system.

Sorry, bud, that's all I've got.

Darn it

Thanks anyway both of you

Phil

Hmmm, curiously it is too an OS function... cool
