Jdawg Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 forgive me if I'm in the wrong place, but I didn't know where to post this, and the Sandbox doesn't have a button for me to post a new topic. Why does an Apple Computer allow you to use a space as the first character of a FileMaker file name, but a PC won't let you do that? It will let me put the space there, but when I click off the file, it jumps back and removes the space. Any suggestions? thanks, Jonathan
Ender Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 It's a bad idea anyway. Spaces in file names make it more likely to give you headaches later when you try to add file references.
Jdawg Posted October 12, 2006 Author Posted October 12, 2006 That's true. I just went to the FileMaker website and found out that Windows requires files to start with an alpha numeric character. It's hard coded into the OS.
