GUYK Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Help, I've tried to import JPEG files into container fields both ways, picture in FM and using the file reference option. I can import them fine however if I try and click on the field it will not open the picture in 'preview' or any other program. Any ideas? GBR2L
John Mark Osborne Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 The ability to double-click an object in a container field only works with referenced files and not graphics. However, if you insert a jpeg as a file, you will only see a document icon. It is possible to have a script import both a graphic and a file. If you tell me exactly what and why you are trying to do this, I will be glad to devise the solution for you. I just want to make sure I understand exactly what you are looking for.
GUYK Posted October 17, 2006 Author Posted October 17, 2006 (edited) Mark, What I'm trying to do is scan in copies of peoples educational certificates into a container field located on that persons record. I want to be able to click on the container field, see the certificate in full and be able to print a copy off if I need to. Guy Edited October 17, 2006 by Guest

Newbies MacMark Posted December 13, 2006 Newbies Posted December 13, 2006 In reading your October post I thought you might be able to answer my question, which I posted earlier on another section of these forums. It is easy to place a JPEG (photo file) or alias into a FM Container Field. But, is there any automated way to have that JPEG file name also appear in the unique FM record? For example, is there a way to add a field that would link to the JPEG file name, or in some other way make the JPEG file name visible in each record? Thanks, Mark
