so if you had 2/1/06 as the start and 2/28/06 as the end, that it would like you know that the middle date is the 2/14/06.

Why 14 and not say 15? With 28 days in the month, they are equally "middle".

Comment makes a good point. Well, here's a formula that considers the 14th the middle of the month for a 28 day month and the 16th the middle of the month for a 31 days month, etc. Hope this helps.
