Scripting a jump to related record from Portal

Featured Replies

I have a portal that shows me data from a join table. I need to put a button that will run a script that will pull data from the id field in the portal row, and find the record in the master table on the other side of the join table. How do you pull data from a field in the portal row. I know this is basic, but I can't seem to make it fly. If I can get the data out of the field in the row, I'll be fine. Thanks for your help.

Steve.

Set a button to GTRR (Go To Related Record) check "Show only related records/Current record only.

Just to clarify. The "show only related records" option isn't required. With or without it checked, the related record from the portal will display. All the "show only related records" option will do is place the record in a found set by itself.

You are right John Mark. I always open a new window and pause the script and then close the window so I can go back to my original layout so I only want the current record to show. I should have mentioned that.

Sorry to be so late in responding to the post. What I have happening is that the portal is showing a record from a join table. When I get the portal to go to related record, its going to the join table. Is it easy to get it to go to the table on the "other side" of the join?
