Set variable when creating a PDF - help!

Featured Replies

Hi

I would really like to use 'Save records as PDF' with a 'Set Variable' script step that lets me specify the folder and file name. I am really struggling to make this work though, when I type the directory names it errors saying the folder is locked, even when it is exactly as the path selected using the options in this feature, which is the only way I can get it to output a PDF.

I am using a Troi plug-in to 'GetPath' to the desktop folder which will then allow me to have a variable for either a mac or pc platform.

Any inspiration would be much appreciated.

Looks like you got the path wrong. Here is an example file demonstrating the technique so you can modify your path to meet the requirements.

I have looked over what you have sent and it appears that I was trying to do too much with my variables!

Many, many thanks, this is a great help.
