won't let me enter data

One of my FM DBs won't let me enter data. I go into browse mode, try to click a radio button, and nothing happens. Help!

Change the field to Edit (remove the value list specification). Is there anything in the field? Click into the field. Does anything show now? Double-click the field and make sure it is properly specified as same table occurrence as the layout table occurrence (check Layouts > Layout Setup > Show Records From.

Also, is it as custom value list or is it based upon values from a field? Are there records? Is there data in this field in other records?

thank you so much!!!

your response was very helpful.

I was able to go to layouts--> layout setup --? show records from, and change with table is displayed in the show records from. After doing so, I was able to enter data in fields that were part of whichever table was selected in the "show records from" dropdown menu that you pointed me to.

Problem is, it will only allow me to enter data from within fields that are in whichever table I have selected in the "show records from" dropdown box. And my layout has fields from many tables, and I don't want to have to return to this box to change the "show records from" box every time I want to enter data in a different field.

Do you know of a way around this? Perhaps it's possible to just move all fields to a single table ? Is there a way to not have to do this manually?

Again, thanks so much for your help!!!
