Jokez Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 We have a Mac X Server 10.3.9 that we installed FMServer 8 Advanced on. With v8.02 the ODBC works fine... when we update to 8.04 the ODBC stopes working, not even responding on port 2399. Anyone have any clues!?!?
Newbies amacuser Posted November 13, 2006 Newbies Posted November 13, 2006 (edited) I have a similar problem: (Mac OSX "Tiger") With Filemaker Pro 8.0 ODBC-sharing works fine (Port 2399 "fmpro-fdal" is open) With Filemaker Pro 8.5 I couldnt find an open port anymore (with Portscan) therfore I always get an "connection refused" error... I havent found anything about this yet, so I am slightly confused... Edited November 13, 2006 by Guest
Newbies Tony Adkins Posted December 22, 2006 Newbies Posted December 22, 2006 Same problem. Running 10.3.9 on Xserve, had FMPRO Adv. Srvr v8.02 ODBC worked great. Went up to FMPRO ADV SVSR v8.04 and now not working. Ran a test on a G5, running 10.4.5 (pwr pc) to test FMPRO Adv Svr running v8.04 and it works. Something is up with the 10.3 os vs the 10.4 OS and the way FMRPO opens/uses port 2399. Port Scan shows 2399 not open on Xserve. Trying / looking for the fix (other than going back to v8.02 on 10.3.9.
HALBURN Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Have you guys had any luck figuring out your ODBC problem? I am trying to determine if our ODBC problem is with our server or with the Windows XP client. We started having trouble with ODBC on our server today after several months of running with no problems. We are not running an X Serve, we just have a standard G4 running Tiger 10.4.8. I tried the Apple Network Utility and did a port scan but I am not getting any response from port 2399. I did a clean install of FMSA 8 on a second computer and tried another port scan. Still no response from port 2399. Since even after the clean install FMSA 8 failed to respond to a port scan I am not really convinced that the Apple Network Utility port scan is actually testing the ODBC connection. Since we do not have another Windows computer to test the ODBC driver with our server I was hoping that I could find someone on this forum that would be willing to attempt a test connection to our server. Any help is appreciated.
HALBURN Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 I was able to solve the ODBC problem by deleting a corruption in the xDBC Support folder and reinstalling FMS8A. Here is a detailed link to the fix: http://worldsync.com/guide/trouble/odbc_jdbc_connection_refused.pdf
vasci Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Did anyone ever solve this problem of ODBC with Server 8v4 and 10.3.9? I cannot go back to Server 8v2 as I never had Server 8v2.
