I have a field that uses a value list in my database. I would like to have that field "require" a selection during data entry. I want my data entry person to not leave that field blank before moving on to the next entry.

Is there a way to require a field have an entry before the record is saved?

This is empty validation option works when the record is committed, not when the field is tabbed out of. There are plug-ins (like the one that comes with FileMaker Advanced) that will run a script when you exit a field but it requires some modification of the field. Someone may have a solution but I don't think it is likely.
