How to filter a lookup ?

In the "Job Pro Central" application, during order entry, you click on a line to add a line item. Instead of the usual lookup, this brings up a screen where you can enter a few key characters, then press TAB to see a filtered set of the items you are looking up. (see attached screenshot). Then you select the item you want from the filtered set.

Anybody know how to do that ?
