I would like to set up a multilingual solution under fm8 and need to give helpsupport with tooltips in the user language.

I try to fill a global field in with the user language, global related to the tooltiptable. Each tooltip has a numeric code.

To fill the global in, I use the Event plugin and trigger a script in each tooltip, the numeric value is joined as scriptparameter.

The script is effectively triggered by the mouseover and the global in filled in with the good value. BUT the tooltip has always one step after. Tooltip 1 comes for field 2 where tooltip 2 should appear, and so one.

As you can see in the Control box, the value of the global is always ok, it seems that the tooltip value is not refreshed before shown.

I also tryed with teh Wavevent and Zippscript with the same results.

Tried under Windows Xp an MacSO 10, no difference.

(I also tried the "Getnthrow" method, but this cannot work when handling more than hundred tooltips. I need thousands tooltips)

Any other method can also be considered if dynamic, enduser accessible and multilingual.

Simple Dynamic Tool Tip text dependent on global Tool tip code.

Tool Tip text is hidden in repetition 2 - 5 of the actual field.

Works with text and number fields. NO Script ! No Plug-in ! min. FMP 8

Tool tip calculation is simple and beside Field name the same for all fields.

Tool Tip Text can be edited on Dev Layout or if really many fields could be put in a separate file and put in the field repetitions by a script which would make it really easy to edit the tool tip text.
