fmpa 8.5 and excel on OS X

Is it possible to import FMP 8.5 data into an excel spreadsheet on OS X? I can see and option to open an FMP 5 database but not fmp 8.5. Can this be done using odbc? If so, does someone have an example of how to set this up?

I currently have a formatted excel spreadsheet and I would like to fill in parts of the spreadsheet with FMP data.

Thanks

As far as I can tell you, you can not open FMP files with Excel, unless you export the file into different formats first.

Now of course FMP can import Excel files qiet nicely and quickly.

According to http://www.actualtechnologies.com/readme.php:

"Starting with OS X 10.2, Apple has included ODBC support in the operating system in the form of ODBC libraries and an ODBC Administrator application (found in the Utilities folder). The libraries themselves work fine. "

So, you should be able to create an ODBC resource that links to your FM database, and then use that in Excel.

Apple refers you to http://www.iodbc.org/ for further assistance.
