I have seen a tweak to create a sidebar in List View and conquer the black lines between Header and Footer. Somewhere in the old Scryptology Developer Toolkit or in Filemaker Magazine.

Can anyone tell the key word to find it again or point to example somewhere.

Thank you. That's got the thing I was talking about.

i've figured where my problem is. I had the technique right except that instead of graphic objects on the layout my layout is composed almost entirely of fields. All the graphics are container fields so I can change one swatch and recolour the whole layout theme.

But...container fields always leave a 1 to 2 pixel gap in the body part relative to a graphic object of the same size.

A one pixel border top and bottom fixes that.
