A list of common values from a set of records

Featured Replies

If there are set of records with field1 populated by a member of a value list. For example: data in field1 can be from a list of colors: blue, white, red, yellow and greeen.

There are several records (more than the number of color choices) wherein the instance of any particular color could be more than one:

record1, blue

record2, blue

record3, red,

record4, yellow

What would the relationship be that provides a portal readout, if you will, of the instance of the colors used - ie. I would like to avoid seeing a list (within the portal) of every instance of a color choice for all records in a found set, etc.:

The portal would display: three lines only for the colors choices from the above records:

red, blue and yelow.

Thanks:)

It's probably done best this way:

...while in your case isn't there a need for the field:

"cSumGroup"

Soren,

Please don't point directly to the attachments, but instead point to the Threads. That way someone other than you will know know who posted the file, and why it was posted. It also helps to know this information, so we are not continually looking at the same files.

While I'm on the subject, why are you using the "Code" button to paste in links instead of the "URL" button?

Lee

Hi Lee

Yeah good point, the template originates from this thread:

http://www.fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/179675/post/219205/hl/portalized+summaries/

In the other thread was I forced to it - what I saw was an apparentl collission with a "reserved word" making the post looking like a dogs breakfast. I could have used the URL but had to think up a discription then.
