I have searched the forums unsuccessfully, so sorry if this has been discussed.

I have a list of Suppliers, I wish to have a system set up where you can select the supplier and it will set a field to that supplier you clicked (basically a purchase order form restricting where you can order from), easy enough, done that, however I want the suppliers sorted into categories,

e.g.

Lifting Gear Hire

Office Stationary

Crane Hire

example, if you hover over/click one of the categories it will show you all the suppliers from that category, then clicking the supplier will insert into the correct field.(my coding knowledge is basic/average and i learnt most of it from playing with microsoft access, which has been binned for filemaker)

I am not sure this can be done via a popup field, any ideas, it would be alot easier than having to wade through 100 suppliers.

Any help or alternative suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Juffled

What you want is called a 'conditional value list'

I have done a small dem file for you.

Click in any 'type' and see your options change

Have a look at the relationship between the two tables and the 2 value lists that have been set up and attached to the fields

Hope it helps
