Setting duplicate accounts in different files

Featured Replies

I have a database with accounts/passwords configured. This includes layouts showing pictures from another file. If user account is not created in picture file (and most are not), they are asked to enter account details when viewing appropriate layout.

I want to put my 100 or so accounts from one file into the other quickly to avoid this double authentication problem. Or is there an alternative?

Thanks.

cant think of one ... account propagating seems to be an issue that is hard to tackle...

Have you thought about merging your other file into the existing table structure so that you will no longer have to manage this?

I have thought of this, Stuart. It's just that a couple of the files have dozens of layouts that would be a real drag setting up in the combined file.

Take a look at the ScriptMaker step to Create new Accounts. You can pass it variables for name and password. Also, you must have the Privilege Set created first in order to do this.

Thanks Steven

I'll look into that one, and hoefully not come back crying help!

Never fear. My responsibility is to help where I can do so.

Wow. Help! My scripting experience is limited to find some records, go to a layout etc. I couldn't begin to get started on this one. Any step by step instructions?

Thanks.
