I'm developing an application in Filemaker 8.5, currently for Windows but ultimately cross platform.

When using the Export function under script control, it is possible to set the file path where the file is to be stored. I'd like to be able to drop the file (for example) onto a user's desktop or into their My Documents folder, but the path will vary from user to user.

Is there any way of including system variables like the Windows login name so that you can get to the correct user desktop or my Documents location? The alternative is to use Troi's File Plug-in which can return the path to certain system files, but I'd prefer not to introduce this complication unless I have to.
