ok, what i had:

Employees table, linked to activity table (list of stuff to do)

so an 'activity' portal within emps layout will show everything that person has to do.

Great, done, no problems, easy.

NEXT:

filter/ refine the portal so that only certain activities are shown in the portal. e.g. phonecalls.

theres all ready a field marking the 'type' in activity, so i created a global in employee, which ='phone'

and made them relational.

so that worked...sort of.

the problem is that occassionally no data is shown in the field!?

then 5min later it will work again.

the database is on the server, and there are upto 5 ppl using it at once.

any ideas? im totally stumped!
