Newbies Tony Thomas Posted December 5, 2006 Newbies Posted December 5, 2006 Is this possible? I have a development copy of a database I'm using to write and test scripts. Once everything is working the way I want it to, I'd like to move the script over to the database that's in production. I can't figure out how to do this. Can I?
aldipalo Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Go to your production database. Open Scriptmaker. Choose "Import" check your development db and choose which scripts you want and it will be imported. HTH
bruceR Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 FileMaker Advanced lets you copy/paste entire scripts or script steps. In your case I think you'd want to copy the script steps from the test file and paste them into the script steps in the production file.
aldipalo Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Since I have only worked with Advanced I didn't realize that feature was not available in other versions. Sorry to misinform.
Tim W Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 The import scripts functionality is available in FM pro also. The Advanced product allows portions of scripts (steps) to be copied and pasted between scripts. Hope this helps to clarify, Tim
aldipalo Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 So then my reply was essentially correct. He wants to bring over from his development db his tested scripts. And these can be imported whether in 8.* or 8.* Adv? (I'm not worried about being right just not being wrong. I hate to give incorrect information)
Tim W Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Yes, In versions 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 & 8.5.
Newbies Tony Thomas Posted December 8, 2006 Author Newbies Posted December 8, 2006 Thanks everyone. I'm still putting the finishing touches on the script, but I'll import it into the production database once I'm confident it does what I want.
