FM 5.5 Server - Event errors

Hi everyone

I am quite new to Filemaker and have come across a problem this morning after a non-expected server shutdown.

Basically, my client PC's cannot connect to the databases held on the FM Server. The error I get is:

File "dbase_name.fp5" could not be opened: a database with that name (or the same initial 31 characters) is already open; please rename one of the files.

Obviously dbase_name is a substituation for the actual database name. I have tried stopping and starting the FM server service, rebooting the server etc, as soon as FM Server starts I get the above message and clients cannot connect to the main database.

Is there anyway of fixing this?

Thanks in advance.

Mat

the error you get is on the client?

How are they connecting to the files: through Open Remote? Or do you have the folder with the FM files shared through the OS? (which is bad news).
