I have 5 seperate files, each containing > 600 fields with specific tab orders. When the customer makes a change which adds a field or changes the location of a field I have to change the entire tab order from that point on. Or do I? Is there any short cut, rather than resetting the entire tab order? Please keep in mind I'm new at this.

You would have to change the order manually. You could clear all of them and let FM put the order back for you, but most likely you would not want to do that.
