Table occurances of files not showing up via ODBC...also not in FMP Window menu...???

Featured Replies

Our FileMaker system consists of roughly 20 files or so. I've been working with in FM with ODBC for a little bit now and have never come across this issue.

Usually, any table occurance displayed in a FM file's relationship screen is available to me via ODBC as a table. Also, any file I open within FM gets added to the Window menu and can be switched to.

I have a couple of files that when opened do NOT show up in the Window menu of FMP and they also do NOT show up in my ODBC connections. However, if I go to Open Remote and select my server they show up there just like every other file. I can open it up and it displays perfectly fine in my FMP client. But if I switch to a different file I have to go open it again instead of just being able to switch back to it via the Window menu.

Any information I can get on this would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

filemaker can have "hidden" windows. If you know the file is open but it does not show under the "windows" menu, the from the same "windows" menu choose "show window" which will list those hidden windows.

As to ODBC: are you sure there is at least one account in those files with a privilege set that has the fmxdbc extended privilege set?
