Hello Everyone. I have a question that I haven't seen answered, quite, in any of these posts, maybe because it's so basic. . .

How secure is my FileMaker file if I assign a hard/impossible to guess user name and password? Am I safe walking around with that file on my laptop? Or should I always place the file on my PGP encrypted partition?

I don't need to allow anyone else access to my file: I just want to be able to use it myself, and carry it on my laptop without needing to worry about what will happen if, God forbid, my laptop is stolen or lost.

Thanks!

It sounds like you're saying I should not trust the username/password function in FM itself?

This applies to allapplications, not jsut to FileMaker Pro. Keep sensitive data at rest in an encrypted partition.
