Steven H. Blackwell Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Can FileMaker Server installed on one computer act simultaneously as a client (as in accessing/editing/adding database just like FileMaker Advance) without installing FileMaker Advance on the same computer? No and no. Neither FileMaker Server nor FileMaker Server Advanced can act as a client. FileMaker Server and FileMaker Server Advanced are the same product and same executable. The Advanced portion refers to the license capability to access the Web Publishing Engine and the xdbc components. Using the Web Publishing Engine in certain instances you can however trigger scripts in the database. The WPE is itself a client of the database server engine. HTH Steven
