Easy filtering for letters and numbers only

Is there an easier way to filter a field so that it contains only letters and numbers other than using Filter (field ; "A...Z 0...9")?

Probably not, but why not explain a little more of what is happening that you want to change?

In other words, what do you have now, and what do you want as the end result.
