I have a little idea.

What are the current options for Getting Email into FileMaker.

A list of Plugins would be great and pros & cons useful.

Has anyone managed to overcome FileMaker (Locking up) during the getmail script.

I was just thinking ...

NOW WE HAVE THE WEBVIEWER CANT WE HAVE FULL HTML EMAILS EXPORTED AND RENDERED AS PART OF THE IMPORT PROCESS???

Is anyone doing this yet?

Hi StuarT,

I'm very excited about the mail.it plug-in (www.dacons.net).

When it comes to e-mail functionality, this is the weapon of choice.

Did you ever tried this plug-in?

Hey Genx,

In version 6 i built an email database that basically did everything most apps do ... with smtp.it and pop3.it.

I abandoned it because my clients often receive large attachments and this would "lock up" filemaker and the user would have no way of aborting it. The only way around this was to have a seperate machine (aswell as the server) to recieve mail ... like an exchange server ... this is not cost effective for my clients.

The email you recieved was totally simple text. (in a text field)

With 8.5 & webviewer it would be possible to export each email source field to an html file and then display it in HTML using the webviewer...

hence: "Full HTML" - i know im making it up...
